Potterman has 171 941 821 C for $100 and says it fits all 78-82 but this 
is not quite true because it does not fit US made Rabbits.  Only 82 MkII 
appears to have this according to Bentley diagrams.

My book also lists this as found in these non A1s:

Dasher 78-81
Quantum 82
Audi 4KS & GT 80-82

If Dieter is 75-77, you want 171 941 821 A also found in Rabbit, Dasher, 
and Audi Fox of that era.  I have a pile of them in my basement, write 
me if you want me to investigate further.  I believe later MkII had a 
different unit, 171 941 813 D with non-compatible plugs.  It looks like 
this is the kind I have the most of.
