Fuel Pump Tests



you're talking about the injector test, where each injector goes into its own tube.
i dont remember if bentley has one for the main pump.

  You could probably also use this method Allyn suggested to test the flow of the pump.  I forget what the test is called, but it's the one where you run the pump for x seconds and measure how much fuel it pumped in that time.  I don't remember if this test is in the Scirocco Bentley or in the CIS Bentley.

    be sure you secure it somehow, it likes to jump when you apply power.

    Is there a way to do any bench tests on a puel pump to see if it is
    working before installing into the car?  Will running the pump dry for
    a couple of seconds off a 12V source to hear if it still spins damage
    it?  TIA
