No way, I did not know a 2.0L x-flow would fit in a MK1! Any special
motor mounts needed? Any alterations needed to the hood?

I have had my eye on this,
<http://portland.craigslist.org/pts/91248264.html> (good deal for $500?)
but did not think it would squeeze into the engine bay. Although with
the dyno numbers Greg posted I am pretty happy I am spending all this
time putting in the 3A. Plus, quoting the H2O VW Performance
Handbook, chapter 7, page 106 "The stock intake manifold from the A3
cross-flow engines flows enough for as much as you can get out of the
fuel injection...They make more horsepower out of the box than the
noncross-flow heads, but with a little work the early heads (and CIS
fuel injection) have more potential for horsepower than the A3
cross-flow and Motronic injection."
Now I do not believe everything I read so any rocco owners with
cross-flow 2.0L have an opinion:)
