DON'T do this!  I have a bunch of extra alignment tools lying around -
shoot me your address offlist and I'll mail one out to you for free...

You don't really need the tool though.  The first time I did a clutch
job many MANY years ago I was a bit "green" and was being entirely too
anal trying to get the clutch aligned *perfectly*.  I didn't realize
at the time that the alignment tool only has to get the clutch
centered enough so the input shaft of the tranny will slide on it
easily without hanging up while sliding the tranny into place...  I
thought (wrongly) that my placement of the clutch disc determined if
the clutch would be permanently balanced/centered.

Just snug up the bolts (yes you need new ones) until you can *just*
move the clutch disc around - center it (measuring tape or even by
eye), and then snug up the bolts the rest of the way...
