Distributor shaft

Rotate motor until the following line up:

- small dimple on cam gear's INBOARD facing surface is at the top of
the head. Not the top of the valve cover, but where it sits on the
head's top surface.

- Crank has small cut in pulley, this lines up w/ small dimple in
Intermediate shaft's OUTBOARD surface.

- Distributor's ROTOR pointing at or near cut mark in distributor
body's top edge.

Everybody happy?

Clip the cap on the Dist, the Rotor should be pointing @ pole #1, so
this plug lead runs to the far LEFT spark plug, nearest the timing belt.

The Rotor on an 8v will rotate Clockwise so next is spark plug 3, then
4, then 2.

1-3-4-2. (When the rotor is pointing towards #1 it usually ends up
pointing towards the driver's corner of the engine bay.)

If it's still running bad you have some other problem.
