"Cut-pile" or "Loop" carpeting in a mk1?

I installed the accmat carpet as well ( 8 years ago) . In addition to
cutting all the holes and trimming the edges, I also had to remove the
additional felt padding on the bottom side of the footwell areas. It was too
thick and the carpet bunched up in those area and looked lowsey. It also
does not come with the 2 side front kick panel pieces.

Yeah. My 81 has cut pile. I am leaning towards loop, though I'll get a
sample prior to ordering to verify.

One the one hand I like TMI's stuff up to this point, but I like the one
piece idea of Accmat, just not the cut your own holes. (I am capable of
doing so, just would be nice to have the guess work taken care of.
