Tim, I know this will mean another trip to the bone yard however; have you
tried to source a Fox intake?  It has a larger opening at the TB than the
stock Scirocco 8v.  Even if you try to match port the Scirocco intake you
will find yourself dangerously close to breaking through where the intake
narrows in at the TB end.  The Fox intake does not have this taper, and as
mentioned above, the opening is larger and will accommodate a larger TB.

Also, there is a desirable year of Fox intake to look for; unfortunately I
do not know which years it is, again an excellent question for the list to
comment on.
