Oil leaking from headgasket

The back of my lower engine block is all goopy from oil, presumably
leaking from the headgasket. It's not the valve cover, it's definitely
at the head/block union. Any solutions to this other than tearing off
the head and replacing the headgasket? If I have the head torn off and
have the gasket replaced, then damn I might as well have the head
rebuilt, cammed, and P&P'ed, and damn I'm broke already and I haven't
even started yet!
I'd like a cheaper solution.
