Starter???..Need answer this morning

I grabbed a used starter yesterday simply because I am nursing this car for 
a couple more weeks til I can another one. So....this starter came from an 
84 Rabbit and only has one tab beside the battery cable bolt which is the 
ignition wire tab. My old starter had two. One for the ignition switch wire 
and one for the coil. Well my car has already been altered so that the 
ignition wire clips on with the positive bettery cable. Can this be done 
with the coil wire as well? Or should I try to find the two tab starter? If 
I can't use this starter I'm returning it at 12 today EST. Thanks.
