Running no O2 sensor

I double checked this weekend and the green wire with the O2 plug is just 
dangling there. I've had the car 2 1/2 years now with absolutely no engine 
running problems. All I know about this cars previous life is it was a 
guinea pig for PO's auto-mechanics class. The engine has 320k on it with no 
internal mods or rework. Kinda strange...
