An Email From the Turn Signal Shop

On my BMW, I got clear turn signals and smoked them myself with
nightshades. I recommend that route to anyone getting clear corners
because then the end user can smoke them exactly how much they want to
fit with the car. I have a white car and black headlight housing, so a
little tint was perfect, but it's still much lighter than most smoked
signals that you can buy, but I've seen people who make them nearly
black - it all just depends on the application. You can do it in coats
and use clearcoat to help smooth it out and make it shiny (I wax my turn
signals :p )
Nightshades does seem to have slight hues too, which is, as I'm
understanding it, one of the difficulties here, but it's really not that
bad. I can understand your concern with details like getting the seals
to work properly and such, but trying to get the colors perfect is
probably more trouble than its worth.

And I'm also confused about what that swatch means.. There's a
gradient, not any specific shade.. and trying to get computer shades to
match an object is damn near impossible anyways. Even a photo of a
sample piece would do little to clarify exactly how it looks.

the question is regarding the color swatch which I put a link
to.......he is saying that he has spent all the time is going to spend
on getting the smoked color....and I want to know what people think of
the color he has arrived at. I posted the email to the list and Vortex

because as you can see on the last line of the email.....he wanted to
do so himself.
