Thermostat Issues Continued..............

I realize I have not followed this thread all that closely and I apologize
to all if I am merely repeating anyone's though already.

You do realize that if you have a summer thermostat you will get cold air
flow in winter time because the engine does not retain the coolant long
enough inside the engine block, to warm it and to provide heat into the heat
exchanger inside the car.

If you have a summer or low temp thermostat, get a winter (195'f) thermostat
and I can guarantee you will feel heat. (Of course this is considering you
have a fully functional heat exchange unit in the car and it is not
clogged.) Also placing a cardboard in front (for us Canadians) of your front
grill will limit the radiator cooling effects unto the already Luke warm
coolant in the radiator thus permitting a higher level of heat exchange
inside the vehicle.

I've noticed the same stuff in the Reiger lately (which can probably be
considered a stock vw cooling / a/c system benchmark, as i have
replaced/repaired all of those parts to factory specs). On very cold
