Batery relocation



Need to relocate the bat. as it is in the way with the new engine.  so it
is going into the back.  The only al. bat. box I found is a complete kit
with #2 gauge wire.  

so, for those who have relocated their battery already. Is #2 ok or should
I go buy some welding wire and use that?

Also, is it okay to simply use the car body as a floating ground, or should
I run a cable from the neg. to the block on the engine?  Wondering about
cold starts, etc.

Oh, btw the car is a '78 mk1
