Recaro seats

This past fall I was at a solo II event and there was a mk1 scirocco with
recaro seats, So I picked up a pair from a 92 Jetta 16v and they slide right in,
but my head hits the ceiling! The hieght adjustment is fully down and slightly
reclined I can fit in but never with a helmet. What I gonna do? suggestions
welcome. Michael
