----- Original Message -----
Hi everybody!
Yesterday on the road, something went clunk and a rhythmic scraping/rubbing sound began. It sounds like it's coming from the passenger's side rear and changes with the speed I'm traveling. I gave it a quick look and didn't see anything touching the wheel. I also tried the e-brake to see if it was brake related, no difference. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Behrle

Dan,

I am thinking if you can make a 10" version, you could also make about a 2"
version for a rear badge? I want to put an Audi "2.0" badge on the back (ABA
swap) and a nice VW symbol that matches would be a perfect compliment.

The only problem with it is I can't really advertise it too much and doubt I
could ebay it without eventually incurring VWOA's wrath. The Scirocco
hold-down clamp wouldn't be a problem, I just need a picture of said clamp.
The only battery hold down I know of is that little metal plate with the
bolt through it. Measurements would work in lieu of a picture.

Here's how it works. You mail me a drawing of what you want for a grill, I
draw it, have it machined out of aluminum, stainless steel or plastic and
send it off to you. It can be anodized, plain, powdercoated or hand painted.
I don't have pricing info (I'm designing my first ones now) yet, but the way
I'm planning on doing it until I can give accurate estimates of price is
that you send me the picture, I draw it and tell you the cost. You can then
place the order or you can walk away from it. As this is my first little
business venture, suggestions, comments and questions are all welcome.

I can do that. Would you want the word Scirocco cut out or everything but the word cut out? I think it would look better with the word cut out, but it would muffle the sound slightly. After I get the image drawn, I'll take a screenshot of it and see if others want to buy it. Big discounts for multiple orders.

Dan
PS- Mild steel is the cheapest, so that's what I'm planning on using. If you'd like a different metal, please specify.

Kind of like what's on the front of mk4 cars? The silver 2" dia VW sign? I can do that. I do want to let you all know though, that I have to hand draw all these images in between school and 2 jobs, so don't expect these within a couple weeks. I can't give a receive date yet as I am just starting, but if you need these soon, let me know and I'll try to work it out.

The last one they had listed didn=92t sell... I contacted them, and =
these
gaskets have the groove in them for the trim, so they're not the
"cal-look" version I've seen made by other aftermarket manufacturers...

Anyone know if these will look ok without the trim installed (or even
work)?

driving home today from the bustling metropolis of houma, la, and started
having a disconcerting screech from the left front wheel. sounded like metal
on metal, and was only present when the wheel was turned to the left at all.
straight ahead or right didn't hear anything, but as soon as you touched it
left, there it was. i haven't taken a close look at it yet, but i'm
guessing that it's the wheel bearing. any other thoughts? is there a way to
test it? is there a tech page for this, and is it possible to change without
a press? tia,

heterozygous is just having 2 mismatched chromosomes, like x and y.
recessive/dominant refers to the expression of the genes on the chromosomes;
it's the end result. for example, blue eyes are a recessive trait. you need
2 "blue" genes (bluejeans? :) to have blue eyes. "brown" is the dominant
gene; if you have only 1 "brown" gene, you have brown eyes. so
brown/blue=heterozygote with brown eyes (because brown is dominant),
brown/brown=homozygote with brown eyes, blue/blue=homozygote with blue eyes.
so actually, the y chromosome is dominant because it only takes 1 to have
"maleness" expressed (=male phenotype). and no, not all males are xy and
females xx. it's just that other combinations can live, but aren't normal.
