OT: Weird notice via email, about a virus...

David,

Welcome to the new world of computer Virii. Newer viruses are smarter
and trickier then ever. The basically get into the address book of
their victim, pick an e-mail address at random to be used as the from
address and then send copies of itself to everyone else in the address
book.

So what this means for you, is that you prollie didn't send the e-mail
in question. SOmeone that has your address in their address book is
infected with this newer breed of virus and have become a virus farm.

Still, just to be on the safe side, hook yourself up with some good AV
like PcCillin, MacCaffee (not really recommended), Panda AV or grisoft
av. Notice I didn't include Norton. These are personal recommendations
(note my comment about MaCaffee). In my book MaCaffee and Norton both
have too much system overhead to be worth it, but Norton has way more
then MaCaffee so I don't recommend it at all. The rest are very small,
updated very often and in most cases you won't know it's there.

Stay away from using Outlook Express if you can, if you must use it,
make sure to run off activeX controls and previewing attachments.

Then all you have to do is stay away from Julie's web site for
1-800-Breath-Heavy and you should bring down your risk of a virus by at
least a good 30% - 40%. Thats about as good as it gets. if you are
looking for 100%, take your pc, box it up along with all disks you have
for it and ship it to me. Once you no longer have a pc in the house,
you don't have to worry about getting a pc virus in the home. Really
though, just get some good AV, make sure you keep it updated and watch
the e-mails you get. Thats about the best you can do. Well that and
stay away from that certain other listers porn site, LOL. I'll be
donning my fire proof suit now just incase Jules feels like picking up
the flame thrower.
