(Vent) Autobahn going the way of the dinosaur?

We all have our own dark sides.
The most enjoyable way to expose mine was to let a US muscle car keep the
left lane, then tuck in behind him as he tried to outrun me, without really
knowing what his engine was capable of. (I was kind to GTOs but fascinated
by tailing Corvettes.) Most of the best US cars would break at least
130MPH, although some were geared much too low to even hit 120MPH.).
I couldn't see their gauges, but would always see exhaust smoke., followed
by a flashing right blinker.
Cruel.
My "Come Upantce" was served one day when a a MotoGuzzi bike closed quickly
behind me at about 145 (MPH) then tucked behind my left taillight. He
wanted an easy out in case I flaked on him. Keep in mind that I was going
145 and HE closed on me.
We played that for about 15 minutes while he decided to trust me and enjoy
the draft. Then, approaching his exit, he broke left and outran me as if I
had stopped.

Never a contest, it is still a joy.
I hope it never ends.
