Might also just be the tires.  I had Ecsta Supra 712s on my BMW and
was also "unimpressed"

Day 2 after having them, I took a turn from a stop at a speed that
would have been perfectly reasonable on my BADLY BALD (Cords showing
and frayed type bad) continentals and couldn't control the car at all
- put it into a curb for $1500 damage.  Not like better tires, once
they slip, they're REALLY hard to control.  We've since gone to
Yokohamas. I wouldn't use Kumho's again.
