I'm fused but won't start

I moved my battery to the rear of my car.  I used the best of everything, Stinger all the way, 4 gauges cables, distributor blocks, and connectors.  With it direct wired to the battery it starts and runs great.  If I put the 250amp Stinger fuse in then it truns over and over and over.  Sometimes I can get it to start but it runs like crap.  I took the fuse out and it starts and runs much better.  What kind of fuses are other people using?   The Fuse holder is almost as big as my battery. What the heck is going on?
