1.8T pistons in a 16v motor



Hey Derrick, this is that asshole Dan! The other Dan!
I'd like to make one suggestion.
Install and tune the TEC II on your current engine, then go over to the new
engine.
The reason I suggest this is when you first fire up an engine with the TEC
II the mixture can be way off. and it'd be a pain to screw up the rings and
pistons during breakin in the new engine if you inadvertantly inject too
much fuel and wash down the cylinder walls.
Better to get the TEC II in the ballpark with the old engine since messing
it up wouldn't matter as much.
Maybe that was already you're plan, but thought I'd mention it based on a
couple of short attempts at firing up Scott Williams' 16V on TEC II. It was
running eye-watering rich for quite some time before we could get it in the
ballpark.
