got 2.0 back in red car, start/running problem.

I got the 2.0 16v back in my red car. It's running on the stock
KE-Jetronic injection.

Problem is, when I first tried to start it, it was hard to start but it
idled okay. As soon as I gave it gas it would die. Dead. Eventually
after destroying the start and warming the car up with these crappy
starts its behavior changed a little. It got to where it would start,
idle, and when I gave it throttle it sounded like it was hitting a rev
limiter or fuel/spark cut. After running for a while its behavior got
somewhat normal. We set the ignition timing to 6 degreeds BTDC.

The immediate choking out of the car did not seem related to the idle
switch as I was able to get the throttle just past the closing of the
switch and it would not die.

However, after it cooled down it didn't want to start again at all. I
did the following to no avail:

- pulled the fuel pump relay and put in a jumper
- test injector output while fuel pump was jumpered (seemed fine)

Keep in mind this is a put-back-together type project. I swapped back
in the CIS-E after having the digifant in. I thought I did a good job
of making sure the wires all got reconnected back to where they should
have been.

When I get home I'm gonna check the resistance on the coolant temp
sensor. Any other ideas?
