[audio] subs & boxes

Now about this carpet thing, I have a nice new chunk I want to put on my
rear tonneau cover/parcel shelf, whatever you call that chunk of masonite
that covers the trunk.
So the carpet I have is thin, not an audio type, but can I just run it over
the small speakers I have in there without a huge loss of sound output? It's
not a competition type system anyway, (I'd call it "retro", LOL) I just want
to hear the cassettes and would rather have a solid chunk of carpet back
there. If I need to use speaker grilles, I'll have to get some, there are
none there presently. So do I need to cut a hole in the carpet? It's a short
loop UV stabilized type in yummy chocolate brown)
LMK, Cathy

And for the NOS comment? I've seen way more turbo cars have issues at the
track. It may be more common in the Honda/Acura crowd, but it seems
relatively safe from my observations, limited as they are.
