[audio] subs & boxes

Hi guys,
I'm afraid I disagree, I have a full Infinity 3-way component set on my
rear deck, the 6x9's are mounted into the parcel shelf, the 4" Mid and EMIT
tweeter are mounted into the stock 4x6 mounts.
I built a rear shelf that hinges in the middle, this is a neat styling
touch and also supports the weight of the speakers. I have also gone as far
as to box the 6x9's to protect them from the air movement the Sub creates
and allow them to punch more.
I'm not trying to start an argument, It's just my opinion. (also i agree
that the standard Rocco rear shelf is inadequate to mount speakers into.)

The install is still a work in progress (that's why cables are everywhere!)
However, it sounds excellent so far with the rear speakers mounted how they
are.

Cheers,

There ya have it, the perfect second opinion!

Honestly Toby's completely right, speakers on the hatch aren't the best
idea. I was going with it since rocco guys usually have their minds set on
something and its best to just go with it. Annnnyways - defenately a
spare
tire box or just a simple box in the trunk is a better choice. However,
with just 2 5.25" woofers, you're not going to hear very much. You could
build a really nice fiberglass box in the left side behind the rear wheel
well. You could do all kinds of things - but I understand if you just want
them on the hatch lid. Lots of people want them on the hatch lid. Despite
what toby says about ya if you can justify the consequenses he conveniently
outlined and it makes you happy - go for it!

;) toby

-some loose change
