JH and PL use same block??

So are the blocks the same?
wondering if i can use the block from my JH and throw
a 16v head on it. i can get a 2.0 16v head and
distributor for cheap.
If its doable, do i need any other mechanical engine
parts besides the oil pump and a new timing belt?
If its isnt the same block, but it works, what kind of
compression would this have?
