How much more do we have to hear this SOB? (was: knock light LED?)

*Groan* Hardy-har-har. Heh, but no, that was amusing.

I'd love to go back to a rocc. Got a spare? The only reason I mentioned the saab now is that this thread originally started with someone saying 'The Saab guys have managed to do this...' and I didn't know who posted that. The other reason I've posted so much about it is that this list is the most mechanically resourceful group of people I know. There isn't much for Saab owners for reference so when I'm desperate I come here. And 20? I wouldn't say that much....Believe me, I'm just as sick of the p.o.s. as you are if not more so. In the future, I will only post Saab stuff as a very last resort and will make sure the subject clearly says OT: SAAB JEFF DELETE.

I'm tired of hearing about this beater Saab - I would never bat an eye at a couple of random mentions (hell, I'm sure I've pulled out the sorry "I miss my M3" statement a couple of times.) But I bet I could pull out 20 messages about this thing in the last 4-6 weeks since Dan bought it...go back to Sciroccos, buddy. This Saab thing doesn't suit you. Jeff (vomits out the evil spirit that has possessed him) Sorry, Dan. No offense intended. :)----- Original Message ----- From: Dan Smith To: scirocco-l@scirocco.org Sent: Friday, March 28, 2003 2:09 PMSubject: Re: Interesting 16V thought: knock light LED?

I got to do that to my Saab! Where did you see the article on it? (assuming there is one?) I think my knock sensor is on it's way out, as the car isn't producing nearly as much boost as it should before blowoff. Not that it's producing anything at the moment but for future reference it sounds quite useful.

Very, very interesting indeed: This was standard equipment on my Mom's
1987 Peugeot 505 STX V6. Peugeot put a little yellow LED at the base of
the instrument cluster that would flicker when the car sensed knock.

In our case, the thing flickered all the time prompting the dealership to
call it a bullshit gimmick and disconnecting the LED.

But since then, I've always thought it'd be cool to have one! :)
