interesting coolant stuff

Just a warning about green coolant (maybe other colors too). We all know this stuff is very toxic. But, I've been told from numorous people that animals find the smell and taste of it very pleasing and will be drawn to it and subsequently poison themselves. Just a heads up to all of you in case you spill some on your driveway or something and you have pets. Cats especially like it from what I hear.

action. flushed system, and actually threw some antifreeze in there this
time (i usually run just water). i went with about 60% antifreeze mix. now
check this out:
temps prior:
water - centered over led, max of 3/4 when fan turns on.
oil - normally 90-100 when moving, peaking at 110 during extended idle in
traffic, but will settle back to 100 if a/c is turned on low (due to
radiator fan running in slow).
temps after:
water - towards upper part of led.
oil - minimum 100 when moving (more like 105), gets to 110 pretty fast,
stays at 110 even with a/c on low.

i realize antifreeze doesnt cool as well as water, but is it THAT much
worse?
also, could it be that all is good, but the antifreeze is raising the
boiling point, so where the system was incapable of going much over 100c
before, now it can more easily?

all other parts of cooling system are still working perfect, fan operates on
its own. nothing was done to tstat, etc.

whatcha think? should i thin out the mix? what is the absolute minimum i
should run to ensure the proper protection that antifreeze is supposed to
provide? (as far as lubrication, etc).
Al
