Turns signals that don't blink / smoking wires

Too bad I can't type in duck-talk...

I have had blinkers fail due to dirtied up contacts in the stalk assembly.  If you have an
ignition file, you might be able to reach in where the stalk disappers behind the trim piece and
file the contacts a tad.  Or try to squirt some electronic parts cleaner in there...or, in a
pinch, WD40 (I *know* you have that).  Give it a try, it's a zero-loss proposition.
