gas leak

i have a gas leak somewhere, maybe its in the tank,
maybe not. i removed it once and had it
cleaned/checked by the radiator guy and he couldnt
find a leak. so where else could the leak come from if
i'm seeing/smelling gas from the driver-side gas tank.
im aware of the recall and my 88 isnt covered by it.
