UPS warning (I hate UPS... long)

Never had a good experience with UPS... I've had inexpensive things shipped
to my home via UPS and specified no signature required when shipping and
come home to find little notes saying the driver did not leave the package
because no one was home to sign for it... I called UPS and they say that
they leave it to the driver to decide if it is safe to leave a package at a
location or not. Since I live in a safe home, not an apartment I was
confused and upset by this, FedEx doesn't pull this.

Example, I ordered a sunroof seal from Potterman on a Thursday and paid
extra to have it overnighted to me cuz I had this wild hair up my ass to
rebuild my sunroof that weekend... I got home Friday night and there was a
little yellow tag! I called UPS and chewed them out, "I paid extra money to
have this part shipped overnight and no signature required so I would have
it for the weekend and you did not deliver it... when can I get it?" they
respond Monday the driver will attempt again. Well I argue that since the
driver screwed me I don't think I should be expected to take the loss in
the extra money I paid for overnight since the part could have been sent
standard 3 day. UPS did not see it my way. Since the office is closed on
the weekend I had no choice but to wait until Monday. F*** Y** was my
response... I demanded that they send some one out to the truck or where
ever my part was and pull it and get it to me today (Yeah I was being a
dick but I've had this argument with UPS 3 times already on 3 other
shipments). In the end I was able to drive to the distribution facility
(not too far from home) and pick up the box with my seal and pack of crispy
M&M's...

I hate UPS and avoid using them... I could have things shipped to work but
I reserve this for expensive or fragile parts... It's not fair to the guys
that work in our shipping department to handle personal items but they are
cool about it if I do.
