Bingo! The total system may or may not be more efficient overall. All that
matters is at WOT the load is removed. It's a street car. WOT happens 5% of
the time.  If it was a race car (endurance) then system efficiency would
matter most since WOT it 85% of the time.

The above will help with that a good bit, but if he adds the WOT alternator
cutout relay, he will simply drop accessory loads at WOT.  Any dinky battery
can run all this stuff and more for a good 15 seconds now and then.
