Smacking stuff fixes everything! The TV when reception sucks, my comp when the fan is being overly loud, my rocc when various inner lights start flickering, my sister when she's being a pain in the ass (heh no, just kidding). I think it should be the first thing anyone tries when they hav a problem! It's about the only thing that made a Nintendo work back when I was a kid. Hooray for smacking stuff!

Yeah, sounds like the dynamic oil pressure circuit that is
located in the cluster is intermittently shorting out. 
It's an "L" shaped board behind the tach.
