8v master cyclinder on a 16v



His point is valid that for a given amount of pedal pressure from the
driver's foot the 8V MC will produce higher pressure. Pressure is force/unit
area, lbs/in^2. Same force, smaller piston area=higher line pressure.
OTOH, the 16V front calipers have a much larger piston. They don't need
higher line pressure to produce enough force on the pads, but they do need a
greater volume of fluid.
That's why you need the 16V master cylinder! To get enough volume with a
reasonable amount of pedal travel, not for a higher pressure.
