SOT: Motion Sensor interchangability? (Vince?)

I have a Prestige Alarm that's about 1.5-2 yrs old (model # is at home). Does anyone know if I have to use a Prestige brand motion sensor? Or can I just purchase any ol' unit. I'm pretty sure the brain is capable of accommodating one.

I want to install one on the cabby to measure if anyone intrudes the cabin space when the top is down.
