WE HAVE A FINAL SCORE!! Re: Glove box lid.

OK, here's how it went:  I removed the clip holding the lock in, and switched it to the new lid.  Lid was fully attached to glove box.  After putting glove box in (lid must be up to get arm in through the side), I looked at it and removed lid from hinges (arm still intact with spring) as opposed to removing hinges from glove box (which is how I removed it to begin with).  With lid still attached by arm, but not hinges, I could move it far enough out of the way to attach screws under lid top.  Re-attach hinges, put in the bottom screws of glove box along with the clasp that the lock fits into.  SUCCESS!  Did not need to remove anything from dash or dash itself other than the glove box.

I plan to continue this no hitter against the car throughout the restoration process.  Wish me luck and stop laughing at my last statement.

Well, for myself, I changed the whole thing (including the lid) and didn't had
any issue about removing the complet dash!!!! So I don't know what to tell you
to solved that! But this may help you, I took out the key-socket out of my old
glovebox and put it on the new one, so this way you can use the original key ;)
Only to remove a little clip that hold the key-socket.

If this can help, I had a 16v old glovebox (broked lid) and did put an 8v
glovebox (including the lid) and did simply move the 16v logo to the new lid.
