Knock Sensor Question

not  tioo sure about " must use such sensor for such box, I have a 88 knock box, and I used the old Audi 3A sensor that was on the block when I go the engine and as per bentley testing (test connector on knock box) the sensor tested a-ok and I have zero engine ping...
