NOW: Weird oil problem; WAS: Wierd oil problem

I'd have to check the bill when I get home, but I'm pretty sure they changed the pump. They called saying they had found metal bits in the oil and that it should be replaced. I told them go ahead. I think that's what happened. Unfortunately, this all took place 7+ months ago. I should have dealt with this back then, but I'm lazy and didn't even get it back on the road until 4 months after I got it back. And the engine was rebuilt because of blown head gasket and numerous other things and it was running like the brown word. Instead of paying someone to do some here and some there, I decided to just have it rebuilt. On the same note (bitching about my rebuild from a reputable shop - it's even listed on the .org's links), they did all this work and still left the power steering belt incredibly loose. I also feel like I got a little hosed. Other things I've noticed, but it's been so long since it was done I feel like it's no use bitching to them about it. Maybe if I had
noticed this stuff the week I got it back. But then, everything was expired (plates, reg. etc) so I couldn't really drive it.

One other thing that's been irking me, (I'm a bit of a spelling/grammar nazi) it's weird, not wierd.

Why was the engine rebuilt? Maybe the pump is not pumping enough oil
causing the light to come on causing damage over the years causing the engine to
need to be rebuilt. And they didn't change the pump and eventually you will have
the same problem again. Or it could just be a faulty control unit. Good
luck
