Leaking some oil, is this bad?

I started the 16V to move it today, and upon getting out I noticed a fresh puddle of oil (that must've happened when I started it).  Looks like it's coming out of the oil filter housing here (arrows - picture is before the leak): http://www.epix.net/~rhock99/leak.jpg
I overfilled it a bit during the last oil change a few days ago, figuring some would settle in when I drove it around.  Checking it today it was at the 3 quarter mark.
Did I cause the pressure to burst something, or is the filter housing designed to leak in the event of overfilling?
