Read them carefully.  That guy is a perfectionist.  Very methodical. 
Checklists and record keeping for everything.  He is usually very specific 
about what he describes and recommends.  He doesn't accept anybody's word 
for how good their product is.  He does his own inspection and testing. He 
reads lots of books on aircraft construction and applies it to race cars 
when applicable. He has spent many years in the race car business.

He collected all the fastener and plumbing information from his previous 
books added some new stuff into a volume called something like "Fasteners 
and Plumbing".  That book will tell you more about fasteners than you 
thought existed.  Apparently their are a lot of  counterfeit nuts and bolts 
out there.  He even tells you how can even check the "pedigree" of your 
(highest grade) fasteners.  (Not foolproof, but manufacturers now are 
producing certifications of the source of fasteners for 
distributors.  There can still be forged documents and switched goods, but 
it gives you something to go on.)
