I have no idea about it either way, but gold is less expensive than platinum, so you both may be right.

Safe and worth money! The way that cats work it takes Gold to complete the
chemical composition that changes the nasty exhaust into good exhaust.
Check it out, that is one of the reason why cats cost so much, they have
Gold in them!! Very small amounts but still!
