A2 jetta tranny removal

What *I* do is, rotate the bell housing so the splines are almost point
straight up. Thern it comes out. It still a fight. 

I found out today that the 02J trannies have drive flanges that pop off.
Wish id a known that before I fought the thing. Damn sub frame. Going in
should be easier for me. For you, its a fight, this is where all those
300lb bench presses you did at the gym pay off! Also you might consider
loosening the bolts to the sub frame. This can give you a little more
room. GL!
