Does rear axle from '81 Rabbit fit '81 Scirocco?

ETKA lists the 81 Rabbit as having the same rear axle beam as an 84 Scirocco
which is kind of suprising since the 84 Scirocco axle has holes for the rear
sway bar that was never installed on an 81 Rabbit (at least the US 81
Rabbit). Unfortunetly, my ETKA doesn't list parts for earlier Sciroccos.
I'd bet my left ...... that all the A1 chassis (all Rabbit, all Sciroccos)
rear beam axles are the same with the possible exception of the swaybar
holes which are easy to add if your car has had a rear swaybar retrofitted.
(Which, of course, it wouldn't need with a diesel engine ;^)
