16V Conversion Questions

What Daun said about just buying a 16v is completely right on. To do a 16v
into an 82 you need....

beer
complete 16v longblock w/ distributor
16v intake mani, throttle body and throttle cable
16v exhaust mani
more beer
CIS-E fuel injection and ignition w/ harness, including control boxes
16v downpipe
patience (or more beer)

tack on all the crap you _must_ replace and also the stuff you _should_
replace = $$$  ask me how I know!  :)

IMHO, swapping a 16v into anything is only merited when that body style
doesn't come from VW with it (i.e., Mk1, cabby, caddy, etc...)
