need part #

Alright you had to get me in the garage at 8 am on a friday morning eh! well
here is what I have discovered.

these are 1 engine 1.8 JH from 84 and 85 scirocco

First this one orientates the plate location

Second is the plate removed (yes there is a hole behind it!)
<http://longcoeur.com/scirocco/various/P8080187.JPG>

BUT!
I discovered after removing the plate that the JH in 85 did not have a
gasket like the other JH in 84 (plate is also different - vw does it again)
The 84 plate was flat in the back with a gasket... but my 85, well it has an
O-RING incased in the plate check it out!

Any other questions I can answer visually for you ???

=>Not only the diesel, but I believe 1.6 and 1.7 gas engines had a
=>hole in the
=>block where the fuel pump was mounted if the car had a
=>carburetor. When they
=>went to CIS they just put a blockoff plate over the hole.
=>ETKA tends to reuse graphics if they even remotely show the situation, so
=>the accuracy of the sketch can't be counted on too much.
