Assemble MegaSquirt

I don't believe you missed anything and the point does need to be
reinforced.
I tuned my nephew's ABA w/'Squirt just using the NB sensor. But, as you
point out it is only tuned "more or less well". It's NA so it's unlikely it
will hurt itself and there are probably some more horses lurking in there
that will need some dyno time to find.
OTOH, if you're thinking of going forced induction with the 'Squirt you had
better plan on WB-O2 and EGT or some dyno time with an operator that can
tune the MS for you (or that will let you adjust the setting under his
guidance). If you're not fully knowledgable with tuning fuel delivery on an
FI engine and don't have the proper tools it would be easy to damage your
engine.
