A/C evacuation?

Haven't done it, but I've seen it done.  There is this device called a 
manifold.  It consists of two gauges w/valves and three hoses.  It is 
specifically designed for measuring, filling and evacuating AC systems.  Any 
AC service person would have one.  In fact, Harbor Freight might carry it.
