hrm, along those freeze plug lines, the trailer donor had a rebuild 2.0 16v in it. it sat in a yard for about a year and a half. when i got the car and yanked the engine, one of the freeze plugs was missing. everything else looks perfect other than that. is it possible that the freeze plug just popped out over the winter? the car was retired for fuel problems and the cooling system had no reason to be touched.
whatever the reason, i need to get this 2.0 in the rieger so i can rebuild its 1.8 for the twin.

Well I pulled my engine out of my car this weekend. I had freeze plug let go while I was driving the car, and I over heated. I plan on seeing how the eninge is and rebuilding it. Wondering where I should start? Do you guys use a ridge reamer before removing the pistons? Also I was looking a techtonics price list and need some of the tools for the cylinder head there pretty expensive. Is there any where to get the various tools cheaper? I also live in Canada.

  Thanks again!!

  Shawn Falzarano.
