(OT) Question for the engineers on the list



With my limited understanding of physics, I don't believe you can create
more energy than you begin with by gearing the power down.  A good example
of this is our motors and our transmissions.  1st gear doesn't have any more
hp than 5th, it's just more useable power when geared down.  I could see
possibly creating more torque but not hp.   HTH!
