WRX vs. 1.8t

OK, these arguments are getting a bit absurd. So you
like the 1.8T? Great! That's totally cool, and it is a
great car. Nobody is arguing that. Nobody has, and
nobody will.

Buy why bash something you haven't tried yet? Why do
you feel required to make this stuff up? Does it
threaten you so much? You're certainly entitled to
your opinions, but you should have some knowledge of
the opposition so you know you're correct. If you're
so biased that you'll never buy an asian car, that is
your right, but don't pretend it's based on objective
performance facts.

Magazine ads and reviews are clearly not enough
evidence for you. I respect that, and in fact think
that's a good thing since you're right: they
definitely are biased. However I therefore challenge
you to go test drive the car and prove your own
theories for youself. I would also insist that, in
order to actually see what the car is like in
performance scenarios, go to an autocross and take
rides with owners of both cars...hopefully both with
good drivers.

Pay attention when you're at the autox, and note that
the 1.8T (incl. the 337) isn't even in the same class
(GS) as the WRX (DS). The 1.8T's are in GS with the
2.5RS, and while the RS has a number of national-level
trophies, nobody drives a 1.8T competitively in GS (or
any other class where the 1.8T is legal). For
real-world, side-by-side comparison, go to
http://www.scca.org and look through the ProSolo and
National Tour results for the past year.

If you don't like something, that's fine. But if
you've never tried it and know nothing about it, don't
be surprised if people stop listening.
