rieger fixin

having just moved, my drive to work has gone from 4 minutes to 20-30
minutes, resulting in all of those little pesky rieger problems wearing on me
that much more. today i finally got sick of the exhaust blow-by (cracked union)
and the more-than-normal vibration (hd trans mount). got a 2-1/4 to 2-1/4 sleeve
from advanced. whipped out the sawzall (woohoo!) and cut off what was left of
the flared out section on the cat-back section (~1"). install sleeve and a
couple of clamps and voala, extremely quiet rieger. i never knew a tt full race
exhaust and one of those crapola super turbo mufflers could be that quiet. while
i was under there i changed back to the factory tranny mount. i would have loved
to have kept it in there, but i grew tired of dash rattles at idle and a blurry
rear view mirror at 3k. the car feels so much better now. quiet, smooth,
vibration free, aah the good life.
now that 20 minute drive to work in the morning will be much more enjoyable,
despite the fact that south carolina doesnt have a single properly timed stop
light.
