R32



I'm right there with you, Neal. I've street driven and raced for VW glory
for many years. However, VWoA is generally ambivalent to motorsports in
North America. Case in point: I met a top VW marketing guy at the NY
International Car Show a couple of years ago. I asked why it was that so
many grassroots and prominent rally and race teams campaigned their cars,
but with zero support from the factory. His answer was more or less that
Audi will carry VAG's sport image while VW goes for the luxury customers. To
incorporate racing into VWoA's promotions would be to "confuse their core
demographic".

(sounds of violent wretching)

Screw that and screw them. I bought a new Subaru Impreza and am very happy
with it, thanks. I've still gotta say "long live my Scirocco", though. :^)
